With her breasts scarred and bruised, despite her trauma she chooses to reclaim her femininity through details like her long curly hair and painted nails. Though she hides one breast, the other is revealed, scarred yet unhidden. Signifying that no one can fully escape one’s insecurities. In this work, I wanted to express a truth many carry, that healing is not linear and beauty is not diminished by imperfection.
